in order to enhance the quality of scientific research regarding its side purely related to knowledge o r to the objectives of development, o r both sides, and in order to allow the professors and researchers to engage in the mobility of distinguished production, the Directorate-General for Scientific Research and Technological Development of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launches the Call for Applications to obtain the label of excellence for research laboratories in all disciplines established at least five years ago, which have already received a positive periodic evaluation.
This call contains the basic elements required in the special conditions available in the nominated human capital in the composition of the laboratory of excellence.
Selection procedures are based on the sorting of outstanding competencies according to applicable international standards. The candidate laboratories will be ranked according to the laboratory's products on the one hand, the production of candidate researchers and their ability to innovate and carry out feasible research projects on the other hand, taking into account the principle of competitiveness in the process of ranking the candidate laboratories.
After the completion of the process of strict selection of high-level competencies, the accepted laboratories will be informed to begin the preparation of the work programme by complying with the specification prepared by the Directorate-General for Scientific Research and Technological Development to accomplish workable research areas according to the nature and capacity of selected competencies and their coherence with the implementation of research activities to start the final sorting process. The Permanent Sectoral Committee for Scientific Research and Technological Development will study the files and announce the results.
